01 — The Series

Prakash Bharati is an original Hindi satire series where 1980s-style news anchors report on India today with a perfectly straight face.

Each episode brings together ground reports, official clarifications and fictional advertisements. Through familiar faces and everyday absurdities, the series explores the gap between official statements and lived reality.

Written, directed and produced by Anurag Tiwari with AI filmmaking tools.

02 — What to Expect
  • Studio bulletinsLate-80s anchors, warm U-matic tape, one unbroken take, zero expression.
  • Ground reportsEarly-90s correspondents standing calmly in the middle of the absurd.
  • Official clarificationsBureaucrats explaining, at length and on the record, exactly nothing.
  • Fictional adsBright, sincere, VHS-dubbed commercials for things that should not exist.
  • WeatherA painted map of the subcontinent, a wooden pointer, total confidence.

New episodes release on Instagram and YouTube.

03 — The Journey So Far

What began as a fictional news bulletin has grown into an ongoing series with recurring characters and an audience across Instagram, YouTube, X and LinkedIn.

The first episode recorded 2.99 million Instagram views, over 237,000 shares and more than 11,000 new followers. With 90% of its Instagram views coming from non-followers, Prakash Bharati found an audience well beyond its creator's existing community.

From roads and employment to education and everyday public life, the newsroom continues to find stories that feel strangely familiar.

Pilot figures recorded in September 2026.

04 — What's Next

The newsroom is growing.

Upcoming broadcasts will introduce new stories, recurring segments, correspondents and fictional advertisements, alongside special editions exploring life in contemporary India.

Beyond the bulletin, we're exploring the lives of its characters, behind-the-scenes stories and new ways to experience the world of Prakash Bharati.

We welcome production, technology and brand partners interested in helping build the series while preserving its independent voice.
